Practice Nurse Maternity Cover (From Dec 2024)
Biggar Medical Practice has an exiting opportunity for a caring, enthusiastic and highly motivated Practice Nurse to join our friendly practice, covering maternity. The successful candidate will be flexible and have the ability to use initiative as well as being able to work under pressure and meet deadlines. Applicants must be NMC registered and previous experience in Chronic Disease Management including Diabetes, Asthma, COPD and in Cervical Cytology are required.
Independent Nurse prescribing would also be desirable but not essential.
Ongoing training and development is encouraged and supported.
The post is remunerated depending on qualifications and experience.
6 weeks Annual Leave and 10 Public Holidays (Pro rata)
Set within the traditional market town of Biggar, the medical practice team cares for 8000 patients. We are also responsible for the care of an 18 bed ward in the Kello Community Hospital and Greenhills care home.
The Practice Team comprises of:
- 6 GP Partners.
- 3 Practice Nurses.
- 1 Health care support worker.
- 1 Advanced Nurse Practitioner.
- 1 GP Trainee.
- 1 Business Manager
- 1 Practice Manager
- 1 Practice Team Leader
- 7 Patient Advisors/Practice Administrators
- 2 Pharmacists.
- 1 Mental Health Liaison Nurse.
- 1 Community link Worker.
The Integrated Community Support Team is based in the Health Centre.
Other community services provide clinics at the Health Centre.
